What is a nutrient? A nutrient is any substance in food provides energy, helps your body "burn" another nutrient to provide energy and repairs tissue. There are different types if nutrient including:
- Proteins
- Carbohydrates
- Fats
- Vitamins
- Minerals
- Water
So when you go on a diet, you still need to consume the basic nutrient groups. Going on a diet doesn't mean cutting some type of nutrients out. Limiting your intake and making sure your intake is less than your output are the best approach.
