There are many diets currently available. They span from diets that cut out entire food groups like the Atkins Diet or the Grapefruit Diet to those diets which require you replace meals with pills or certain drinks such as Slimfast and Slim Quick.

Since these diets can greatly restrict what you eat, it often causes problems with gaining the waight back fairly quickly. For this reason, it's best to continue eating food from every food group rather than restricting your diet. The best plan which has this concept is Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers takes your age, weight, height, and amount of activity you do into account when determining how any calories you should eat in a day.

Each food is worth a certain amount of points, with those that are healthier having less points. This teaches how much food should be eaten in a certain day. This program also gives help with the motivation factor related to a healthy diet. Every week those on Weight Watchers meet with a group of others on the same program and have weigh-ins. This makes people trying to lose weight have others to hold them accountable and also help them throughout the weight-loss process.
